Scott Kaatz, DO, MSc, FACP, is Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at Wayne State University; Senior Staff Physician, Department of Internal Medicine; and Director, Anticoagulation Clinics, at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Kaatz also serves as Associate Program Director for Resident Research, Department of Medicine, and Research Scientist, Center for Health Services Research, at Henry Ford Hospital. Dr. Kaatz is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Dr. Kaatz earned his undergraduate degree from Michigan State University, East Lansing and continued on to Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine where he received his Doctorate of Osteopathy degree. He interned at Riverside Osteopathic Hospital in Trenton, Michigan, and performed his residency in Internal Medicine, Primary Care Track, at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. Dr. Kaatz completed a Primary Care Faculty Development fellowship at Michigan State University, and recently received a Master of Science degree in Evidence-Based Health Care from Kellogg College at Oxford University, England.

Dr. Kaatz received Michigan State University's Outstanding Teaching Award, as well as the American Medical Group Association's Acclaim Award, and was named 2007 General Internal Medicine Teaching Physician of the Year at Henry Ford Hospital. He is well known and widely published, having served as principal investigator for a number of clinical trials and authoring over 30 peer-reviewed articles and abstracts. He is a reviewer for Annals of Internal Medicine and Journal of General Internal Medicine. Dr. Kaatz has been a featured speaker at a variety of national and international forums and conferences, and is a member of the American College of Physicians, the American Medical Association, and the American Osteopathic Association.
